Finally some snow!

And it's actually sticking this time!

The canceled school due to the icy road conditions & given that the snow we have falling now is supposed to turn to icy rain overnight, I'm guessing there will be no school tomorrow either.

Apparently they started plowing around 3am.  This is our road at 10am

7 hours of plowing later and they haven't even reached our road yet. I'm hoping they at least salt it before the freezing rain starts or DH may have a challenge getting up the hill & into our driveway when he comes in from work. 

Havoc has already been out in it. 'shoveling a path for the cats to get to their food' he says

    We got six inches of snow, then ice, now the snow is starting again. Yay!

    Ugh. We have about 8 inches and still counting.

    They NEVER close school around here. It has to be blizzard conditions with 2 feet of snow before they'll even consider it.

    I do not like snow.

I thought I was too late to sign up for it because I was a couple days behind on reading Mel’s blog, but then she contacted me and asked if I could do a post about punctuation. Punctuation? Yes. Mayhem decided to take up knitting this week. He found he had plenty of time to knit in the car while we ran errands Oops! Dropped a stitch The dinosaurs were very busy the other afternoon. Once again they requested muffins and they pitched in to make them. Though there was some conflict over who got to stir. Rumors of muffins attracted other dinosaurs And there was some more conflict over control of the bowl The winners circle the bowl in a victory dance But they shouldn't celebrate too soon, because over on the kitchen table trouble is brewing. A month or so ago I cleaned out my freezer . Yesterday I cleaned my refrigerator. This is a different thing than just cleaning it out. Cleaning it out mostly involves taking most of the food off of the shelves, sorting it and putting the good stuff back. Maybe wiping up some visible spills. But not getting behind or under things or dealing with the bottles on the door. Cleaning it involves taking all the food out, all the bins out, plus disassembling the shelves and scrubbing them & the inside of the fridge all clean. This happens as rarely as the freezer cleaning for much the same reasons – it’s cold, my hands cramp up from the scrubbing and the solid yet still gel like substances that accumulate in dark forgotten corners are a PITA to get clean. Plus the heavy tempered glass shelves are too big to fit in the kitchen sink and have to be washed in the bathtub. Which means I then I have to wash the bathtub. And mop. I never manage to clean the fridge without getting dirty wate
