Weekly Winners – snow storm edition

Here in the Mid-Atlantic region we have a plethora of snow. It started snowing around 6pm Friday night and continued for over 24 hours.

Early Saturday Havoc tried to get some shoveling done but there was too much coming down

When it slowed up around 2pm he went back out (in a dry coat) to snow that almost reached his waist

Mayhem has always been a bit dubious about snow. (I have pictures of him at 12 months old in the snow with this expression)

He just doesn’t manage well in it

There were 19.5 inches in my yard at 4:15pm Saturday

    Wow! That's a lot of snow! I'm with Mayhem... not so sure about that much, or any for that matter (unless I'm skiing). Great shots! =)

    I have two daughters that feel the same way about snow. The older one loves it and the younger one...not so much!

    Well you certainly beat us! We had about 5 inches on Thursday night and a dusting overnight Saturday, just to make sure.
    Mayhem really doesn't look impressed. Can't say I blame him! Give me the Spring sunshine any day.

    My boys would be over the moon with this snow! Here in the south, we've gotten a little cold rain and that's it (yuck).

    I'm sorry, but for all the generalizations Americans make about Canada and snow, I am enjoying this morning's tour of the blogosphere where everyone is posting their "look at my backyard" photos while we got NO SNOW. :)

I thought I was too late to sign up for it because I was a couple days behind on reading Mel’s blog, but then she contacted me and asked if I could do a post about punctuation. Punctuation? Yes. This takes the cake. Or, actually, it eliminates the bread. We all know I am a lazy slacker when it come to cleaning out and/or rotating the food in my house Much to my mom’s intense embarrassment I have shared the results of this particular failing numerous times on this blog The freezer The fridge The pantry The surprise Milanos So no one will be  at all shocked to learn I have done it AGAIN! And I outdid myself rather spectacularly this time. You might recall the 3 year’s expired bag of tater tots in the freezer last year, or the 3 year’s expired bag of pasta from the pantry back in January. Pshaw! 3 years? A mere 3? Amateur effort. Ladies & Gentleman I present my greatest find to date 7 years expired yeast! Go me! I switched over to bulk bag yeast around the time this expired & I keep that in the fridge rather than the baking cupboard like the packaged stuff.
